Abstract deadline: August 15, 2026
Generative AI and the Language Learner plans to examine how sustained interaction with generative AI is reshaping second language learners. The volume will center on learner change, including affect, identity, agency, participation, belonging, language use, and perceptions of competence and legitimacy.
Submission Priority
We especially welcome empirical and data-informed chapters that examine how generative AI is affecting language learners across diverse educational, linguistic, and cultural contexts. Theoretical and critical chapters may also be considered when they offer a clear framework for understanding learner change in AI-mediated contexts.
Publication Information
The volume is being developed for submission to Candlin & Mynard ePublishing as the intended publisher. Physical copies will be available globally through Amazon's Print-on-Demand (POD) service. Final publication details will be confirmed following proposal review and publisher approval.
